Introduction to the Praktikum Program

Client Deployment & System Installation

    • Deployment of Windows and Linux clients using OPSI, Baramundi, and Clonezilla
    • Creation and maintenance of installation images
    • Automation and standardization of client deployment
  • Skills to be Acquired:
    • Understanding of PXE boot, imaging, and automated installation processes
    • Handling of deployment tools (OPSI, Baramundi, Clonezilla)
    • Troubleshooting during installation processes
    • Documentation and process optimization

Linux Desktops for Training and Examination Environments

  • Focus Areas:
    • Evaluation of suitable Linux distributions for public workstations
    • Configuration of secure examination and learning environments
    • Development of a standardized deployment
  • Skills to be Acquired:
    • Comparison of different desktop environments (e.g., GNOME, KDE, XFCE)
    • Hardening and securing (e.g., user rights, software restrictions)
    • Use of kiosk mode or session reset concepts
    • Testing and documentation of performance and user-friendliness

Windows and Linux Desktop Adjustments & Security
