Program Overview


Humboldt Perspectives Study Abroad Program

Overview

The Humboldt Perspectives Study Abroad program is a research-oriented and transdisciplinary course offered by Humboldt-Universität in Berlin. The program is designed for students who wish to study in Berlin for four months and acquire intercultural skills.


Participation Requirements

To participate in the program, students must:


  • Be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program at their home university
  • Provide proof of sufficient English language skills (B2), as all courses are held in English
  • Be at least 18 years old

Application Process

The application process involves the following steps:


  1. Register on the MoveOn application portal and start the application process
  2. Send the following documents via email:
  • Letter of motivation for participation in the program, including course selection (up to 5 courses)
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Proof of identity (passport or identity card)
  • Valid student ID card or confirmation of enrollment from the home university
  • Transcript of Records with a list of courses taken at the home university to-date
  • Proof of English language proficiency (if required)
  1. Receive confirmation of registration within two weeks after submitting complete application documents
  2. Pay participation fees and receive further practical information about the stay in Berlin

English Language Proficiency

The following tests are recognized as proof of English language proficiency:


  • TOEFL IBT: at least 90, with a minimum of 20 in each section
  • TOEFL paper-based test: at least 580, with a minimum of 50 in each section
  • IELTS: 6.5, with a minimum of 6.0 in each section
  • TOEIC: minimum 685 in all areas
  • CEFR: at least C1
  • CET-4 (China): 550
  • CET-6 (China): 490
  • Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English: grade C
  • Cambridge Advanced Certificate: grade B
  • Duolingo English Test (DET): at least 105

  • Withdrawal period: until 31 May 2026 (reimbursement of course fee)

Program Details

The program will take place from 27 August to 11 December 2026 in Berlin. Participants will have the opportunity to select up to five courses, including a German course. Participation in accompanying cultural activities, research, and global skills training is an integral part of the program.
