Program Overview


Humboldt University of Berlin - Faculty of Life Sciences - ZPHU

Center for Psychotherapy

The Humboldt University of Berlin, in cooperation with several major psychiatric institutions in Berlin, has established a recognized training consortium for the specialist training in psychiatry and psychotherapy (ZPHU-FAWP). The necessary training authorizations for several people in the steering committee are available. Based on the training regulations of the Berlin Medical Association (Chapter 27.1 - Specialist in Psychiatry and Psychotherapy), the part "Psychotherapy" with a focus on behavioral therapy is offered by the ZPHU.


Psychotherapy in advanced behavioral therapy

The training consortium includes the following cooperation partners:


  • Department of Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics - Evangelical Hospital Queen Elisabeth Herzberge (KEH gGmbH)
  • Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, Campus Mitte (Charité CCM)
  • Psychiatric University Clinic of the Charité in the St. Hedwig Hospital (PUK Charité in the SHK)
  • Friedrich von Bodelschwingh Clinic - Clinic for Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics (FvBK)

Admission Criteria and Application Process

The application process for the specialist training in psychiatry and psychotherapy includes the following steps:


  • Start of the next training year: expected to be in spring 2026
  • Information event: An information event will take place on September 29, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
  • Application period: Applications can be submitted immediately, and the application deadline is December 1, 2025
  • Required application documents (as a single PDF file):
    • Application letter with explanation of motivation (max. 2 pages)
    • Tabular curriculum vitae
    • Copies of relevant certificates

The training places are limited, and the final admission is based on a written application and an admission interview.
