Program Overview
Master of Science in Betriebswirtschaftslehre
The Master of Science in Betriebswirtschaftslehre is a two-year program designed to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed in an international and constantly changing economic environment.
Goals of the Program
The program aims to equip students with the following essential skills:
- General Management: A broad foundation in business administration, rather than specialization in a specific area.
- Specialized Knowledge: In-depth knowledge in specific fields of business administration.
- Research Competence: Quantitative methods and analytical skills to understand and evaluate scientific results.
- Internationality: An international perspective, with a focus on global business and economics.

Program Structure
The program consists of the following components:
- Pflichtbereich (20 LP): Master's thesis
- Fachlicher Wahlpflichtbereich (90 LP): Specialized courses in business administration, including:
- Fachlicher Wahlpflichtbereich A: General Management (18 LP): Courses in marketing, finance, accounting, and organization.
- Fachlicher Wahlpflichtbereich B: Volkswirtschaftslehre und Methodische Grundlagen (18 LP): Courses in econometrics, statistics, and economics.
- Fachlicher Wahlpflichtbereich C: Betriebswirtschaftslehre (30 LP): Specialized courses in business administration, including accounting, finance, and marketing.
- Fachlicher Wahlpflichtbereich D, Wirtschaftswissenschaft (24 LP): Elective courses in economics and business administration.
- 鈁erfachlicher Wahlpflichtbereich (10 LP): Non-technical elective courses, including language courses, career development courses, and internships.
Master's Thesis
The Master's thesis is a self-contained scientific work that demonstrates the student's ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical problems. The thesis is typically written in the fourth semester and has a scope of approximately 100,000-120,000 characters (about 60 pages).
Admission Requirements
Admission to the program requires a strong foundation in business administration and economics, as well as good quantitative and analytical skills. Practical experience is an advantage, but not a requirement.
Further Studies
After completing the Master's program, students can pursue further studies, such as a Ph.D. in business administration or economics, or participate in the Berlin School of Economics program.
