Maîtrise en Sciences de l'Information (M.S.I.)

The Maîtrise en Sciences de l'Information (M.S.I.) is a professional master's program that aims to train information professionals capable of identifying, acquiring, preserving, organizing, managing, and disseminating all forms of recorded information for the benefit of various client groups.


Program Description

The program is designed for individuals with a bachelor's degree in any discipline who wish to acquire strong competencies in information management. Graduates of the M.S.I. program possess a double competency: that of their original discipline and that acquired in information science.


Admission Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree from a recognized university (or equivalent)
  • Basic knowledge of computer science is necessary to succeed in the program
  • Admission is only available for the fall semester
  • The program has limited enrollment capacity
  • Students can enroll full-time or part-time

Program Structure

  • 51 credits
  • Mandatory 36-day internship
  • Students must pass a computer science test at the beginning of the program

Accreditation

The M.S.I. program is accredited by the American Library Association (ALA) with continued accreditation status. The next comprehensive review visit is scheduled for Fall 2029.
