University Program: Personnel Enseignant Qualifiť Hors Quťbec (MQE)

The University of Montreal's Faculty of Education offers a microprogramme de qualification en enseignement (MQE) for teachers qualified outside of Quebec. This program is designed for individuals who have completed their teaching education outside of Quebec, either in another Canadian province or abroad, and wish to teach in the Quebec school system.

Program Description

The microprogramme de qualification en enseignement (MQE) is a 15-credit program that provides teachers with the necessary skills and knowledge to integrate into the Quebec school system. The program is offered in a hybrid format, combining in-person and online courses, or entirely online.

• Familiarize students with the inclusive educational philosophy and the functioning of the Quebec school system

Target Audience

The program is designed for teachers who have completed their teaching education outside of Quebec and wish to teach in the Quebec school system. This includes teachers who have obtained a teaching permit or a certificate of eligibility from the Quebec Ministry of Education but require additional courses to meet the requirements of the Quebec school system.

Program Structure

The program consists of 15 credits of coursework, which can be completed in a hybrid format or entirely online. The program is designed to be flexible, allowing students to balance their studies with other responsibilities.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Teachers who have completed their teaching education outside of Canada may be eligible for a recognition of prior learning (RAC) process. This process allows teachers to have their prior learning and experience recognized, which can facilitate their integration into the Quebec school system.
