The Microprogramme de 2e cycle en kinésiologie is a graduate program offered by the Université de Montréal, Faculty of Medicine.

• KIN 6500: Physical Activity and Health
  • Acquire cutting-edge knowledge on the roles of physical activity and physical condition as determinants of health in different populations.
• KIN 6530: Exercise and Musculoskeletal Problems
  • Evaluate and prescribe specific exercises for primary and secondary prevention of musculoskeletal problems, considering these conditions.

• KIN 6510: Exercise Physiopathology
  • Study the effects of pathological conditions of cardiovascular, immune, respiratory, and metabolic origin on exercise responses and adaptations, as well as health benefits.
• KIN 6515: Postural Balance and Locomotion
  • Familiarize yourself with the terminology specific to clinical biomechanics; acquire fundamental notions on the analysis of human posture and locomotion; develop critical thinking.
• KIN 6520: Evaluation, Training, and Prescription
  • Understand the underlying principles of physical fitness assessment and training, as well as exercise prescription and good lifestyle habits for asymptomatic adults.
• KIN 6525: Evaluation in Physical Activity Promotion
  • Learn concepts and methods for evaluating physical activity promotion programs, including types of evaluation, issues, and application contexts.
• KIN 6800: Research Methodology
  • Introduction to research methods in the field of kinesiology, deepening concepts and methods necessary for planning a study, analyzing data, and interpreting results.
• KIN 6825: Sport and Physical Activity Psychology
  • Deepen knowledge in sport and physical activity psychology, including theories and methodological approaches in developing and evaluating interventions.
• KIN 6830: Advanced Movement Neurophysiology
  • Understand the corticospinal and muscular mechanisms of movement regulation via neuroimaging and stimulation techniques, including the athlete model and the effect of physical activity on patients.

Exigences d'admission

To be eligible for the Microprogramme de 2e cycle en kinésiologie, applicants must:

• Satisfy the general admission requirements (Section XI) of the Règlement pédagogique des Études supérieures et postdoctorales.
• Hold a bachelor's degree in kinesiology or an equivalent diploma.
• Have obtained a minimum grade point average of 3.0 out of 4.3 (or the equivalent) in their undergraduate studies.
• Demonstrate a sufficient knowledge of French, as the program is taught in French.
• Submit additional documents, including a curriculum vitae and a letter of motivation.

Coûts et aide financière

The estimated tuition fees for the program are:

• $2,183.05 per trimester for Quebec residents (15 credits).
• $5,393.20 per trimester for Canadian non-Quebec residents (15 credits).
• $11,998.60 per trimester for international students (15 credits).
