Program Overview

The Majeure en sciences des religions is a 60-credit program offered by the Université de Montréal. It is designed to introduce students to the fundamental elements of religious sciences, both in their historical and contemporary aspects. The program aims to provide a rigorous education in the dimensions of religions and theology, as well as an introduction to spiritual and religious traditions.

Admission Requirements

  • The program has an unlimited capacity.
  • The minimum college R-score required for admission is 20,000.
  • To be eligible, candidates must:
    • Hold a diploma of college studies (DEC) awarded by the Quebec Ministry of Education or provide proof of equivalent training.
    • Have completed the Pre-University Program of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the Université de Montréal.
    • Hold a pre-university diploma and have completed one year of university studies (full-time equivalent).
    • Have completed at least 24 university credits outside of the Pre-University Program of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the Université de Montréal.

French Language Requirement

  • Candidates must demonstrate a level of French proficiency corresponding to the B2 level in oral and written comprehension.
  • They can provide proof of French proficiency through various means, including the Épreuve uniforme de français, langue d'enseignement et littérature, or a recognized French language test.

Tuition Fees

  • The estimated tuition fees for the program are:
    • For Quebec residents: $2,177.05 per trimester (15 credits).
    • For Canadian non-Quebec residents: $5,387.20 per trimester (15 credits).
    • For international students: $15,602.05 per trimester (15 credits).
    • For French or Belgian Francophone students: $5,387.20 per trimester (15 credits).
