Introduction to the RECI Program

The RECI program, which stands for Research, Community, and International, is a personalized and pluralistic pathway offered by the Faculty of Music at the University of Montreal. This innovative program is designed to provide students with unique and enriching experiences that focus on social and current issues, ultimately enhancing their influence in the community and internationally.

Program Description

RECI is tailored for students in their first or second year of the Bachelor's degree in Music at the University of Montreal. The program's objective is to offer a customized academic journey that places students at the forefront of their learning experience. By participating in RECI, students will have the opportunity to engage in various experiences, including research projects, community involvement, and international activities, which will contribute to their personal and professional growth.

How the Program Works

With the guidance of the program's coordinators, students will select experiences that align with their interests, shaping their academic path in a personalized manner. These experiences can range from attending conferences, participating in research projects during the summer, engaging in community organizations, or undertaking social projects within course-projects, among others.

Research and Research-Creation

Students will have the opportunity to multiply their experiences in scientific or university environments, as well as in the private sector and public institutions. They can participate in research projects and familiarize themselves with methodologies in their field of study. Additionally, students can undertake creative projects that incorporate a social, environmental, or other dimension, based on their practice and instrument.

Community Involvement

Through RECI, students will engage in on-field experiences in various community settings. By participating in the activities of different organizations for short periods, students will support these entities in achieving their missions.
