Baccalauréat par cumul en études du phénomčne criminel
The Baccalauréat par cumul en études du phénomčne criminel is a degree that allows students to intervene or conduct applied research in the field of delinquency, the penal system, criminalized populations, marginal groups, and victims of criminal acts. This is achieved by combining complementary programs in different fields related to criminology.
Objectives
- Reflect precisely the nature of the completed studies
- Allow students to combine various short programs coherently and complementarily according to their career objectives and interests
- Seek varied expertise on different themes related to criminology
- Complete the bachelor's project at their own pace (three to ten years between the date of graduation from the first and last program)
- Increase attractiveness, particularly in terms of employability

Two options for combining programs are possible for students interested in the Baccalauréat par cumul en études du phénomčne criminel.
Option 1
- Major in Criminology (FAS) (60 credits) + Minor or certificate from the pre-established list (30 credits)
Option 2
- Certificate in Criminology (FAC) or Minor in Criminology (FAS) (30 credits) + Certificate in Victimology (FAC) (30 credits) + Minor or certificate from the pre-established list (30 credits)
A fully online program path is possible at the FAC.

Admission
The demand for direct admission cannot be made for the BACCAP in études du phénomčne criminel. Students must submit an admission application for each of the two or three constituent programs of their degree.
Perspectives professionnelles

Graduates of the BACCAP in études du phénomčne criminel may have access to second-cycle studies in criminology, including:
- Maîtrise with stages in intervention, which may eventually lead to membership in the Ordre des criminologues du Québec
- Maîtrise with stages in analysis, more focused on applied research
- Maîtrise with a research thesis on various aspects of the criminal phenomenon
Ordre professionnel des criminologues du Québec
The Ordre professionnel des criminologues du Québec (OPCQ) was officially created on July 22, 2015. Membership in this Order is necessary for certain activities reserved for criminologists, such as evaluating a person with a mental or neuropsychological disorder, evaluating a person in the context of a decision by the Director of Youth Protection or the court under the Youth Protection Act, and determining the intervention plan for a person with a mental disorder or presenting a suicidal risk.
Graduates of the BACCAP in études du phénomčne criminel who have significant experience in criminological intervention may submit an application for membership by equivalent training to access the criminologist's permit.
Processus de diplomation
To obtain their degree, students must request it through the DIPcumul form on their student center. This request is made when starting the last course or up to two years after completing the last course of the last program. The diploma is sent by mail, even if the graduates participate in their degree ceremony. The process of diplomation must follow several validation steps within different instances of the university.
