Program Overview

The Baccalaureate in French Language Literature and Linguistics is a 90-credit program that combines the study of French literature and linguistics. The program aims to provide students with a solid foundation in the theoretical and methodological aspects of both disciplines.


Program Structure

Admission Requirements

  • Minimum college performance rating (R rating): 22
  • Eligibility conditions:
    • Being the holder of a diploma of college studies (DEC) awarded by the Ministry of Education of Quebec or having equivalent training to the DEC.
    • Having successfully completed the Pre-University Program of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of the University of Montreal.
    • Being the holder of a pre-university diploma and having successfully completed one year of full-time university studies.
    • Having successfully completed at least 24 university credits other than those of the Pre-University Program of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of the University of Montreal.

French requirement for admission

  • Students who have completed their previous studies entirely in French do not need to provide additional proof of French proficiency.
  • Students who have completed their previous studies partially in French or in a language other than French must provide proof of French proficiency through a recognized test or diploma.

Tuition Fees

  • Permanent resident of Quebec: $2,177.05 per trimester (15 credits)
  • Canadian non-resident in Quebec: $5,387.20 per trimester (15 credits)
  • International student: $15,602.05 per term (15 credits)
