Program Overview

The Doctorat en musique, option Interprétation, is a professional training program that aims to foster autonomy in instrumental or vocal playing through high-level repertoire. The program includes an academic component that allows students to make connections between theoretical and practical aspects of music and deepen their written and oral skills.

Program Structure

• 90 credits
• Full-time and part-time study options available
• No thesis or dissertation required
• Possibility of international study stay

Admission Requirements

To be eligible, candidates must:

• Hold a master's degree in interpretation with a minimum GPA of 3.3/4.3 or equivalent
• Pass an instrumental audition (45 minutes) and an interview (30 minutes) to discuss their research project and verify their general knowledge
• Demonstrate a good understanding of English
• Demonstrate a sufficient knowledge of French, having completed a significant part of their studies in this language or by presenting the results of a recognized French language test (minimum B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)

Tuition Fees

Estimated tuition fees for the program are as follows:

• Resident of Quebec: $2,183.05 per trimester (15 credits)
• Canadian non-resident of Quebec: $2,183.05 per trimester (15 credits)
• International student: $9,972.10 per trimester (15 credits)
• French or Belgian French-speaking student: $2,183.05 per trimester (15 credits)
