The Baccalaurķat en Musique - Interprķtation Chant Classique program is designed to prepare students for a professional career in classical singing. This program is offered by the Facultķ de musique at the Universitķ de Montrķal.
Program Overview
The program is a 90-credit, three-year degree that focuses on the development of technical, musical, and performance skills. Students will work with a professor of singing and a pianist-coach to acquire knowledge of the voice, diction, styles, and repertoire. The program also includes a solid theoretical and auditory foundation, as well as training in gesture and stage movement.
Admission Requirements
To be admitted to the program, students must:
- Hold a Dipl¶me d'ķtudes collķgiales (DEC) or equivalent
- Pass tests of classification in solfĶge, music theory, and analysis
- Demonstrate musical qualities through an audition
- Submit a letter of introduction (maximum two pages)
