Temple University Geology Program

The Geology program at Temple University offers students a comprehensive education in the field of geology, with a focus on both theoretical and practical applications. Geology BA

The Bachelor of Arts in Geology is a flexible program that allows students to explore the field of geology while also pursuing other interests. Geology BS

The Bachelor of Science in Geology is a more intensive program that is designed for students who are interested in pursuing a career in geology or a related field. The program includes a range of courses that provide a comprehensive education in geology, as well as the opportunity to take elective courses in related fields such as chemistry, mathematics, and physics. Some of the courses that students may take as part of the Geology BS program include:

• Igneous and Metamorphic Petrology
• Paleontology and Stratigraphy
• Structural Geology Students in the Geology BS program also have the opportunity to participate in independent study and research projects, as well as a capstone experience that includes a five- to six-week summer course in geological field methods.
