Program Overview
Introduction to the Advertising Major
The Advertising Major is a comprehensive program designed to provide students with a thorough understanding of the advertising industry. The program is offered by the Lew Klein College of Media and Communication at Temple University.
Requirements for the Degree
To graduate with a degree in Advertising, students must meet the following requirements:
- University requirements:
- Complete the General Education (GenEd) curriculum.
- Take a minimum of two writing-intensive courses, including ADV 1196 and ADV 4197.
- Lew Klein College of Media and Communication requirements, including KLN 1001.
- Minimum of 48 credits in Advertising courses.
- A grade of C or higher must be attained in all required Advertising courses.
- An overall GPA of 2.0 must be attained in the major.
- No more than 12 semester hours of transfer credits may be applied to Advertising major requirements.
