The College of Education and Human Development is dedicated to researching improvements in the learning process. The Career and Technical Education faculty are active in research, with a focus on community and using advances in technology to make a positive impact on people's lives.
Research Quality & Funding
In 2016, Temple was elevated to an R1 institution for "very high research spending and doctorate production" by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. The university's research enterprise distinguishes itself through its focus on community and using advances in technology to make a positive impact on people's lives. The National Science Foundation placed Temple among the top 100 in terms of research expenditures, which amounted to $242 million. The College of Education and Human Development's externally funded research expenditure was $13.8 million in fiscal year 2017.
Facilities
The College of Education and Human Development is primarily located in Ritter Hall, Ritter Hall Annex, and Weiss Hall on Temple's Main Campus. The campus' North Philadelphia location provides opportunities for students to engage with area schools, communities, government agencies, and for-profit and nonprofit organizations.

Center for Professional Personnel Development in Career and Technical Education
The center offers career-long services to CTE professionals throughout the 17 counties that comprise eastern Pennsylvania. Its mission is to facilitate the professional development of all educators who work with career-bound students.
College of Education and Human Development
