Introduction to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program is offered by the Department of Nursing at Temple University. The program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in nursing, preparing them for a career as a registered nurse.
Overview of the Program
The BSN program is a four-year program that requires the completion of a minimum of 124 credit hours. The program includes a combination of classroom and clinical instruction, providing students with a well-rounded education in nursing. Admission Requirements

Clinical Experience
Students are required to complete a total of 973 hours of clinical experience in lab, community-, and hospital-based settings.
Accreditation
The BSN program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and is approved by the State Board of Nursing, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Graduation Requirements
To graduate from the BSN program, students must complete all required courses with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 overall and in the major. The minimum passing grade in all required nursing major courses is 73% (C).
Career Opportunities
Graduates of the BSN program are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) leading to licensure as a Registered Nurse. Career opportunities for graduates include working in hospitals, clinics, community health organizations, and other healthcare settings.

The Nursing Program Fee is $1500 per semester.

Clearance Requirements
Students are required to submit to Temple University Student Health Services proof of immunizations and proof of immunity for MMR, Varicella, and hepatitis B, as well as proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Students are also required to undergo TB screening and a physical exam prior to matriculation. Additionally, students must purchase access to the EXXAT-APPROVE compliance module and comply with minimum standard compliance metrics, including a national criminal background check, Act 33/34 clearances in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and FBI fingerprinting through DHS or DoE.
Student Transportation
Transportation to and from clinical sites is the responsibility of the student. Shuttle service is available from Temple University-Main Campus to the Health Sciences Center Campus Monday through Friday.
