The College of Engineering at Temple University offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs in various fields of engineering.
Accreditation
The Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, under the General Criteria and Program Criteria for Industrial Engineering and Systems Engineering and Similarly Named Engineering Programs.
Program Educational Objectives
The program has the following educational objectives:
- Design, develop and manage complex processes and systems involving people, information, equipment, financial and material assets.
- Develop integrated systems-based solutions that include the consideration of realistic constraints characteristic of today's global, societal, and organizational context.
- Maintain a high level of professional and ethical standards in a variety of industrial, government, and service organizations.
- Pursue professional development through independent learning, professional certifications and/or advanced degrees.
Student Outcomes
The program is designed to produce graduates who have:
- An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.
- An ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.
- An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
- An ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts.
