Introduction to the Bachelor of Arts in Psychological Studies
The Bachelor of Arts in Psychological Studies is offered by the College of Liberal Arts's Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ). This program is designed to promote a broad understanding of human behavior and the affective and cognitive processes that underlie it from the perspective of psychology as a science and a profession.
Overview of the Program
The Psychological Studies major prepares students to deal with the wealth of research-based knowledge they will encounter as they develop a strong foundation in basic and applied areas of psychology. The program includes introductory courses, statistics and research methodology, and a research or internship option. Unique to TUJ's Psychological Studies major is its focus on cross-cultural issues, with special emphasis on Asia and the U.S.

Summary of Requirements for the Degree
University and College of Liberal Arts (CLA) Requirements
- Writing-Intensive Courses: All Temple students must take a minimum of two writing-intensive courses as part of the major. The writing-intensive courses required for this major are PSY 3096 and a Psychology course at the 4000 level, such as PSY 4696.
- General Education Curriculum: Students must complete the General Education curriculum.
- CLA Requirements: Students must follow CLA requirements as specified in the CLA College Requirements section of the Undergraduate Bulletin.
