Accounting Institute
The Accounting Institute is a two-week summer program designed for high school students. The program introduces students to career opportunities in accounting and provides experiential learning activities, case competitions, technology training, and mentorship.
About the Accounting Institute
The Accounting Institute is a non-credit program that allows students to learn from Temple University faculty and guest lecturers from the accounting profession. Students will engage in interactive, project-based learning using the Fox School of Business's world-class facilities and resources.
Accounting Institute Students Will:
- Attend two non-credit workshops
- Learn about careers in accounting
- Build their confidence and sense of independence
- Engage in interactive, project-based learning
- Make new friends and build community with other students from diverse backgrounds
- Network with representatives from the accounting profession and professional accounting associations
Who Should Apply?
Current high school sophomores and juniors from underrepresented populations are invited to apply. Scholarships are available, and all high school sophomores and juniors are welcome to apply.

Curriculum
The Accounting Institute offers various workshops, including:
- Fighting Financial Crime: An introduction to forensic accounting, where students will gain insights into why ordinary people commit extraordinary crimes.
- Building a Business: A workshop that delves into the art of business success, where students will learn about wealth creation, explore the art of crafting and interpreting financial statements, and apply key concepts to building their own business.
