Overview of the Management Information Systems Certificate

The Certificate in Management Information Systems (MIS) is designed for non-business undergraduate students seeking expertise in business technology solutions.   • Three courses required (all courses must be taken at Temple University):
    • Required Courses:
      • MIS 2101: Digital Systems (3 credits)
      • MIS 2502: Data and Analytics (3 credits)
    • Elective: Select one of the following (3 credits)
      • MIS 0855: Data Science
      • MIS 0955: Honors Data Science
      • MIS 3406: Cloud Architecture
      • MIS 3504: Digital Design and Innovation
      • MIS 3505: Scripting for Data Science/Analytics
      • MIS 3534: Strategic Management of Information Technology
      • MIS 3536: Information Systems Innovation with AI

  • Total Credit Hours: 9
  • A grade point average of 2.0 in the certificate is required, including a minimum grade of C in each course.
  • Courses cannot be used to meet certificate requirements if already used to meet the requirements for a major or a different minor or certificate.
