Program Overview


Temple University Rome Entry Year Program

The Temple University Rome Entry Year Program provides students seeking their Bachelor's Degree with the unique opportunity to complete the first year of their studies at Temple's campus in Rome, Italy, and then finish the remaining three years of their degree at Temple's Main Campus in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, or its campus in Tokyo, Japan.


Program Structure

The program is structured as follows:


  • Year 1: Rome
  • Years 2-4: Philadelphia Track or Japan Track

Year 1: Rome

In the first year, students can:


  • Choose from 50+ degree programs that start in Rome, with topics ranging from business to biology to psychology to art history.
  • Take classes in the heart of European history, with the Rome campus located at Via di San Sebastianello 16, adjacent to the Spanish Steps in Rome's historic city center.
  • Participate in class excursions around Rome, Italy, and Europe.
  • Surround themselves with a new culture and language.
  • Get involved in a variety of weekly student activities that give them the chance to meet local Italian students.
  • Get 24/7 access to supportive and individualized staff.
  • Take advantage of Temple Rome's Academic Support Center when they need guidance on class assignments.

Years 2-4: Philadelphia Track

In the Philadelphia Track, students can:

  • Enjoy world-class museums, performance venues, vibrant outdoor spaces, and more than 3,600 murals across the city.

Years 2-4: Japan Track

In the Japan Track, students can:

  • Learn about Japan through programs that weave Japan-related content into their curricula.
  • Study with students from approximately 60 countries around the world, including Japan, the United States, East and Southeast Asia, Russia, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and Europe.
  • Participate in small classes of around 19 students each, encouraging student participation and allowing faculty to provide individualized attention.
  • Join one of 19 student organizations or 9 sports clubs.
  • Utilize the many campus facilities, including computer labs, an academic advising center, library, counseling office, editing room, and tutoring center.
