Honors Program
The Honors Program at Temple University is designed to provide students with a foundation for success in college and beyond. The program offers a range of courses and opportunities for students to develop their academic, professional, and life skills.
Course Descriptions
The following courses are offered as part of the Honors Program:
- HNRS 1901: Honors First Year Seminar I: This course provides students with the foundation necessary for success in college and beyond. Topics include self-exploration, academic exploration, goal setting, financial literacy, and exploring university resources.
- HNRS 3900: Honors Special Topics: Course content varies each semester. Please see the Honors Course Guide for details.
- HNRS 3902: Honors Peer Mentor Development: This course introduces students to content and communication skills identified as integral to serving as a peer mentor in the college setting.
- HNRS 4901: Creating Knowledge: Honors Thesis Project Design: This workshop-style seminar is designed to get students ready to write their interdisciplinary honors thesis.
- HNRS 4985: Honors Social Justice Internship: Supervised Honors internship focused on social justice organizations and community-based work.
- HNRS 4999: Honors Thesis: This class is for students to finish their approved and vetted senior honors thesis project.
