Program Overview


Real Estate Program

The Real Estate program at Temple University offers a comprehensive education in the principles and practices of real estate. The program is designed to provide students with a thorough understanding of the language, principles, and laws that govern the real estate enterprise.


Course Descriptions

The program includes a range of courses that cover various aspects of real estate, including:


  • RE 3501: Real Estate Fundamentals: A survey of real estate transactions, financing, marketing, land use control, and theories of urban development.
  • RE 3502: Real Estate Practice: An exploration of the laws relating to the creation and transfer of interests in land, including the Agreement of Sale, deeds, and leases.
  • RE 3524: Residential Property Management: A study of the process and procedures involved in managing residential real estate, including drafting and implementing a Property Management Plan and securing and interacting with tenants.
  • RE 3525: Management of Corporate Real Estate Assets: An examination of the management of corporate real estate assets, including acquiring, maintaining, and disposing of facilities, and adding value to the business through efficient planning and utilization of worksites.

Field of Study Restrictions

The following courses have field of study restrictions:


  • RE 3501 and RE 3502: Must be enrolled in one of the following fields of study: Accounting, Facilities Management, Actuarial Science, Business Management, Community Development, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Financial Planning, General Business Studies, Human Resource Management, International Business, Law and Business, Legal Studies, Management Information Systems, Marketing, Real Estate, Risk Management and Insurance, Supply Chain Management, Statistical Science and Data Analytics, or Undeclared-Business and Management.

Pre-requisites

The following courses have pre-requisites:


  • RE 3524 and RE 3525: Minimum grade of C in (FIN 3101, FIN 3901, 'Y' in CRFI01, or 'Y' in CRFI07)
