Introduction to the Fox School of Business

Business Analytics Program

The Fox Master of Science in Business Analytics is a program designed to provide students with the data analytics expertise and hands-on experience needed to integrate analytics into business strategy. The program aims to equip students with the skills to drive profits and model their ideal career.


Admissions Criteria

To be eligible for the Fox Business Analytics 4+1 program, candidates must meet the following guidelines:


  • Meet the general 4+1 program admissions criteria.
  • Have achieved a grade of B or higher in at least three college-level quantitative courses, including courses taught in the departments of mathematics, statistical science, management science, or actuarial science.

Curriculum

The Business Analytics 4+1 program requires students to complete 12 graduate credits while finishing their undergraduate degrees. The recommended curriculum pathway includes:


Courses to Be Completed as an Undergraduate (12 credits)

  • Junior year:
    • Fall semester: STAT 5001: Quantitative Methods for Business (3 credits) or alternative courses such as STAT 5602: Visualization: The Art of Numbers and the Psychology of Persuasion (3 credits)
    • Spring semester: STAT 5607: Advanced Business Analytics (3 credits) or alternative courses such as STAT 5001: Quantitative Methods for Business (3 credits), STAT 5602: Visualization: The Art of Numbers and the Psychology of Persuasion (3 credits), STAT 5605: Decision Models: From Data to Decisions (3 credits), or STAT 5603: Statistical Learning and Data Mining (3 credits)
  • Senior year:
    • Fall semester: STAT 5602: Visualization: The Art of Numbers and the Psychology of Persuasion (3 credits) or alternative courses such as STAT 5001: Quantitative Methods for Business (3 credits), STAT 5606: Data: Care, Feeding, and Cleaning (3 credits), or STAT 5604: Experiments: Knowledge by Design (3 credits)
    • Spring semester: STAT 5605: Decision Models: From Data to Decisions (3 credits) or alternative courses such as STAT 5607: Advanced Business Analytics (3 credits), STAT 5602: Visualization: The Art of Numbers and the Psychology of Persuasion (3 credits), or STAT 5603: Statistical Learning and Data Mining (3 credits)

Additional Requirements

All students are required to complete BA 5687: Advanced Professional Development Strategies in either the fall or spring semester. This is a 0-credit class.
