Overview
The Master of Philosophy - MDHS (Population and Global Health) is an internationally recognised masters by research degree. It is designed for students who want to develop advanced skills in carrying out independent and sustained research. Students will produce a thesis that demonstrates their critical understanding of specialised knowledge and makes an important contribution to existing scholarship in their chosen research area.

- Duration: 2 years full-time, 4 years part-time
- Location: On campus (Parkville)
- Intake: Flexible, with commencement possible between March 1st and October 31st, and potentially between February 1st and 28th or November 1st and 30th with supervisor agreement.
Fees
- Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) places are available.
Entry Requirements
To be considered for entry, applicants must have completed:
- A four-year bachelor degree in a relevant discipline, including a substantial research component equivalent to at least 25% of one year of full-time study, with a minimum weighted average of 75% or higher;
- Or a masters degree in a relevant discipline, including a substantial research component equivalent to at least 25% of one year of full-time study, with a minimum weighted average of 75% or higher. Meeting these requirements does not guarantee selection.

- Data science, health metrics, and disease modeling
- Screening and early detection of disease
- Prevention and management of non-communicable diseases (including cancer), and promotion of mental health
