Master of Civil Engineering

The Master of Civil Engineering is a graduate coursework program that prepares students to reimagine our growing cities and handle increasing populations, finite resources, and extreme events. Civil engineers design, construct, maintain, and operate within the built and natural environments, encompassing a wide range of components, including structural, geotechnical, water resources, transport systems, energy, business, and project management.

The program allows students to choose their path, with the option to complete the master's degree in 2 years if they have a relevant undergraduate major. Students can specialise in 'Business', 'Energy', or 'Structural', or continue without specialising. The program provides advanced civil engineering skills, guided by experts in infrastructure design, water resource management, and transport engineering.

Entry Requirements

Domestic students who have completed a Bachelor degree at the University of Melbourne with a weighted average mark of 65% are guaranteed a CSP in the Master of Civil Engineering. Access Melbourne is available for eligible students.
