Assessment of Left Ventricular Systolic Function

Overview

Impaired left ventricular function is a common cause of haemodynamic instability in perioperative and critical care settings. The focus of this course is on left ventricular systolic function. The course covers the basics of the cardiac cycle and left ventricular systolic function pathology, then followed by a tutorial on how to measure left ventricular systolic function with echocardiography. After the tutorials have been completed, read the tutorial on how to report case studies and then complete the 5 case studies which illustrate the different left ventricular systolic function abnormalities.

This is an online course. Upon receipt of payment, the student will receive a "Getting Started" email with instructions on how to access the course materials.

Students have the flexibility to study in their own time and location. Program materials can be accessed through the eLearning app on smartphones and tablets with iOS, Android or Windows systems. Once the program materials have been downloaded on smartphones and tablets, all the interactive media content can be viewed even when offline (however internet access is required periodically to login or re-verify login credentials). Program materials can also be accessed online using a web browser.
