Program Overview
Management Program
The management major prepares students for a wide array of careers in management by immersing them in basic subject matter concerning the theory and principles of administration, organization and motivation; decision-making and strategy; and human resource management. The program provides students with the opportunity to explore courses from several departments within the Broad College of Business, with a program of study designed within the context of the student's personal, academic and career goals.
Admission Process
First-year business applicants are first reviewed by the Office of Admissions for admissibility to the university. Then they are reviewed by the Broad College of Business for direct admission to the College of Business. During this time, the student's major will appear as business preference in their account. The Broad College of Business has a competitive admission program with limited space for direct admission. There are two pathways for admission:
- Direct admission from high school
- Secondary admission for current MSU students

Management prepares students for the numerous, diverse entry-level opportunities in the business world, particularly those requiring skills in leading groups and enterprises: from planning and organization to motivation and decision-making. Alumni work at companies such as:

Program Details
U.S. News & World Report ranks MSU's undergraduate program in management in the top 20 in the nation. MSU graduates with a management major go on to do amazing things. The program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of management principles and practices, preparing them for successful careers in the field.
