The Writing Without Limits course is designed for individuals who have completed an introductory writing course, such as Starting to Write and Continuing to Write, or those seeking to improve their writing skills further. This course provides an opportunity to learn more about the craft of writing and gain confidence in sharing work with others.

Learning and Teaching

The course is delivered through a combination of lectures, class discussions, small group work, and debates. Students will have access to resources via Learning Central. The syllabus includes advanced exercises, reading and analysis of texts, tutor-led discussions, and the sharing of student work. Genres explored will include micro-fiction, short story, novel, poetry, screenwriting, playwriting, and audio-drama.

Coursework and Assessment

To award credits, students must provide evidence of knowledge and skills gained. Assessment methods are designed to be enjoyable and suitable for adults with busy lives. Students will complete a creative writing portfolio (approximately 1500 words) and write reflectively about their process.
