The Master of Architecture (MArch) is a two-year full-time program that aims to develop students into qualified architects, confident in their ability to confront the challenges posed by a competitive and changing world.

Why Study This Course

The MArch program is designed to take students to an advanced level of architectural design, exploring the full range of skills required to be an architect while focusing on developing personal outlook and professional experience. Course Structure

The program is organized into two distinct years:

1. Year One: Spent predominantly in architectural practice, with three short courses held in the School, exposing students to the professional and legal aspects of an architect's work.
2. Year Two: Spent on research-led studies focused on a Dissertation and a Design Thesis, immersing students in the dynamic and collaborative studio culture of the School.

Admissions Criteria

To be considered for an offer, applicants must provide:

1. A copy of their degree certificate and transcripts showing a 2:1 honours degree in architecture from a UK institution recognized by RIBA, ARB, or a degree in architecture from a university overseas.
2. A copy of their IELTS certificate with an overall score of 6.5 with 5.5 in all subskills, or evidence of an accepted equivalent.
3. A personal statement explaining why they want to study on the MArch, what excites them about it, and how it will help them develop in their career.
4. A portfolio of their design work, which may contain a balance of academic and professional work, focusing on final/graduation projects from their undergraduate architecture/architectural studies degree.

Applications normally close at the end of August but may close sooner if all places are filled.
