Program Overview

Introduction to the Civil and Environmental Engineering Program

The Civil and Environmental Engineering program at Cardiff University is a four-year full-time degree that provides students with a comprehensive education in the principles and practices of civil and environmental engineering. The program is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience needed to become work-ready civil and environmental engineers.

Why Study This Course

The program offers a unique combination of academic and practical learning, with a strong focus on industry-led content, professional skills, and a flexible course structure. Students will have the opportunity to develop vital skills through group projects, industrial field trips, and hands-on practical work in design studios, specialist laboratories, workshops, and computer suites.

Accreditations

The program is accredited by the Institution of Civil Engineers, the Institution of Structural Engineers, the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation, and the Institute of Highway Engineers on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer.

Subject Area

The subject area of the program is Engineering, and it is offered by the School of Engineering.

Entry Requirements

The program has specific entry requirements, including:

  • A-levels: AAA-ABB, with grade A in Maths
  • International Baccalaureate: 36-32 overall, with grade 6 in HL Maths
  • BTEC: DD-DM in a BTEC Diploma, with grade A in A-Level Maths
  • Other qualifications: Equivalent international qualifications, subject to entry requirements

Tuition Fees

The tuition fees for the program are as follows:

  • Home status: Ł9,535 per year
  • Overseas status: Ł30,700 per year
