- Students will undertake an individual research project and complete a dissertation under the supervision of a member of academic research staff.
- Students will be provided with a laptop during induction week that will remain with them throughout the duration of the course.
Admissions Criteria
To be considered for an offer for this programme, applicants must meet all of the entry requirements.
- A copy of the degree certificate and transcripts which show achievement of a 2:2 honours degree in a relevant subject area such as computer science, or an equivalent international degree.
- A copy of the IELTS certificate with an overall score of 6.5 with 6.0 in all subskills, or evidence of an accepted equivalent.
Application Deadline
Applications normally close at the end of August but may close sooner if all places are filled.
Selection Process
The university will review the application, and if the applicant meets all of the entry requirements, an offer will be made.
Course Structure
The course is part-time over 3 years.
- Year one: Students will take one compulsory 20-credit module on programming paradigms and two optional 20-credit modules from a range of carefully selected modules.
- Year two: Part-time students will complete three 20-credit optional modules.
- Year three: Part-time students will complete their 60-credit dissertation project.

Modules are delivered through a series of either full or half-day contact sessions, which include lectures, seminars, workshops, tutorials, and laboratory classes.
Assessment
Modules will be assessed either by coursework, examination, or a combination of both.
