The program "La sociedad Española a través del cine" is designed for Advanced Spanish students (B2, C1, and C2) who want to continue practising their conversational and listening skills as well as acquiring new vocabulary, culture and current affairs knowledge in the Spanish-speaking world.

Course Description

This course will cover a variety of social topics related to Spain and Latin America and how these topics are represented in the film industry. Students will be able to analyse the topic context and practise their grammar and vocabulary through oral and written activities.

Learning and Teaching

The emphasis of the course is on participation and students are encouraged to actively participate in class through various non-threatening forms of activities designed to stimulate communication.

Coursework and Assessment

To award credits, evidence of the knowledge and skills gained or improved is required. Some of this has to be in a form that can be shown to external examiners so that standards are met across all courses and subjects. Students will not have formal examinations but may have a portfolio of written texts and class participation.
