Overview

The Architecture: Professional Practice (PgDip) is a postgraduate diploma program designed to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the legal and economic aspects of architectural practice and construction procurement. The program is taught by distance learning methods and is normally undertaken while the student is in full-time employment within an architectural practice or related construction industry organization.

Admissions Criteria

To be considered for the program, applicants must:

1. Provide a copy of their certificate and transcripts showing qualifications prescribed by the Architects Registration Board (ARB) at Part 1 and Part 2.
2. Provide a copy of their IELTS certificate with an overall score of 6.5 and 5.5 in all subskills, or evidence of an accepted equivalent.
3. Provide evidence of completing a minimum of 12 months of professional experience compliant with ARB requirements.
4. Submit a personal statement including reasons for studying the program and any relevant experience.

Learning and Assessment

• Teaching methods: Distance learning using the internet, with regular online events, discussion boards, and individual and group tutorials.
• Assessment methods: Coursework, including structured assignments, case studies, reports, and essays, as well as an online professional interview. There are no written examinations or class tests.

Tuition Fees

• Home status: £3,500 (Year one), with no deposit required.
• Overseas status: £6,700 (Year one), with a £2,500 deposit.

Funding

Financial support may be available to individuals who meet certain criteria. The university offers Master's Scholarships and postgraduate loans for eligible students.
