Optometry MOptom Program
Course Description
The Optometry MOptom program is a four-year course that combines the empathy and compassion of healthcare with the clinical expertise of using specialist diagnostic equipment.
- The program is designed to develop students' knowledge and skills in optometry, including the anatomy of the eye, eye health, and clinical decision-making.
- Students will learn from experienced practitioners and have access to outstanding clinical facilities, including the Leicester Royal Infirmary and optic labs on campus.
Entry Requirements
- A-levels: AAB, including one from Biology or Physics, plus one other from Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, or Psychology.
- GCSE: Five subjects at grade 5/C, which must include English Language and Maths at grade 6/B.
- International Baccalaureate: Pass Diploma with 30 points overall, including three higher-level subjects at grades 6, 6, 6.
- Other qualifications, such as BTEC Nationals and Access to HE, are also considered.
Selection Process
- The selection process involves a two-stage assessment, including an online situational judgment test (SJT) and an online interview.
- The SJT assesses students' ability to demonstrate NHS values, professionalism, and decision-making skills.
- The online interview allows students to demonstrate their communication skills and knowledge of optometry.
Course Structure
