Introduction to the MS in Interior Architecture Program
The MS in Interior Architecture (MSIA) program is a post-professional degree designed for students with a background in interior design or architecture. The curriculum reinforces design fundamentals, advances technical skills and conceptual approaches, and allows for specialization in areas such as health/wellness, making/fabrication, or technology/representation. The program culminates in a comprehensive thesis research and design project.
Program Structure
The MSIA program is composed of 45.0 graduate credits and can be completed in four to six quarters. Students select from a range of studio, seminar, and elective courses to create a program tailored to their professional interests.

Requirements
- Graduate Admission Application: Applicants may only apply to one program. An application fee of $65 U.S. is required.
- Transcripts: Official transcripts must be sent directly to Drexel from all colleges and universities attended.
- International Transcripts: Transcripts must be evaluated by an approved agency for admittance into this program. Drexel University accepts course-by-course transcript evaluations from members of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
- Test of English as a Foreign Language: International applicants are required to demonstrate English language proficiency by submitting scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), the Pearson Test of English (PTE), or the Duolingo Test.
- Essay: Approximately 500 words explaining reasons for pursuing a degree from Drexel, short-term and long-term career plans, and how background, experience, interest, and/or values will enable the pursuit of these goals successfully.
- Résumé: Upload as part of the admission application.
- Letters of Recommendation: Two letters from former professors or professional contacts with supervisory capacity are required.
- Portfolio: A portfolio is required, demonstrating competency in design and technical ability. The portfolio should include at least one complete design project and a variety of work showing particular skills and sensibility.
