Post-Bachelor's Certificate in Special Education Leadership

The accredited online Post-Bachelor's Certificate in Special Education Leadership program leads to a Supervisor of Special Education certification in PA. This program is designed for those who wish to obtain a position in their school, district, or intermediate unit with primary responsibility in supervising special education programs and directing the activities of professional and non-professional employees in these programs.

Certification Requirements

This certification program requires a valid teaching certificate, (either a PA Instructional I or II or another state's equivalent credential), and a minimum of five years of professional school experience in special education or a related field. It is ideal for teachers who want to qualify for the Pennsylvania state Supervisor of Special Education certification.

CAEP Accredited Provider

The Council for the Accreditation of Education Preparation (CAEP) accredits Drexel University School of Education educator preparation programs. CAEP promotes excellence in educator preparation through quality assurance and continuous improvement. This program is organized into four 10-week quarters per year. One semester credit is equivalent to 1.5 quarter credits.

Admissions Criteria

• A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution
• Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher (graduate degree GPA will be considered along with undergraduate GPA)
• PA teaching certification

Tuition

The tuition rate for the academic year is $1144 per credit. For the academic year, students enrolled in an online graduate academic program will be charged a graduate online program fee of $125 per year.
