Programme Content

The program focuses on the theory and practice of education and upbringing, as well as the prerequisites, conditions, and limits of pedagogical action. Students will analyze how people orient themselves and develop in the social environment and how they can help shape it. The program also reflects on educational facts and problems, using relevant theories and methods of educational science, with a focus on adult education and social education/social management.

Structure

The bachelor's degree is the first professional qualification, with a standard period of study of six semesters. The program consists of various forms of courses, including lectures, seminars, and practical courses, offered for individual modules. A multi-subject bachelor's programme includes a major subject with 120 credit points and a minor subject with 60 credit points. The major subject 'Educational Science' can be combined with all minor subjects offered at the University of Jena.
