Program Overview


Computer Engineering (BEng)

The Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering is a comprehensive program that combines the study of computer architecture, digital electronics, circuits, and digital communication. This integrated path program takes a minimum of four to five years of full-time study, depending on the student's academic background.

As a computer engineer, students will gain knowledge of computer hardware and software, leading to innovations in various fields. The program offers the Avionics and Embedded Systems Option or the opportunity to create a personalized path based on electives that suit individual interests.

Admission Criteria

Minimum admission requirements include:


  • Quebec CEGEP: 26 overall, 25 math, 25 physics
  • High school: B overall, B+ in math, B+ in physics
  • Indigenous Bridging Program: available for First Nations, Inuit, and MÈtis students
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma: 29 overall, 4 HL or 5 SL math, 5 HL or SL physics
  • International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (CP): 4.8/7 overall, 4 HL or 5 SL math, 5 HL or SL physics
  • BaccalaurÈat franÁais: 13 overall, 14 in math, 14 in science
  • British system of education (GCE): A-levels, AS-levels, BTEC
  • University transfer (internal and external): varies depending on the institution and courses taken

Application Deadlines

  • Fall entry (September): March 1 (February 1 for U.S. and international applicants)
  • Winter entry (January): November 1 (August 1 for U.S. and international applicants)

Funding Note

Quebec residents may be eligible for funding through the Quebec Perspective Bursary. United States students may be eligible for U.S. Federal Student Aid.


After Graduation

Computer Engineering alumni have established careers in various computing fields, including aerospace avionics, real-time embedded systems, communication systems, software systems, and computer architecture and hardware. Some graduates have been hired by prominent companies such as Bombardier, CAE Inc., and Microsoft.
