Program Overview
Scenography (BFA) Program
The Scenography program at Concordia University is designed to develop students' ability to work visually in a collaborative setting. This program, formerly known as Design for the Theatre, allows students to immerse themselves in the imaginative and analytical processes of communicating design ideas to create entire worlds on stage and in diverse performance spaces.
Program Overview
The program is offered by the Faculty of Fine Arts and takes a minimum of three to four years (90-120 credits) of full-time study to complete. It is available for Fall admission only, with a primary campus location at Sir George Williams (SGW).
Program Structure
- The program includes a specialization in Scenography (60 credits).
- Courses provide practical and theoretical knowledge of how lighting, costume, set, and props designers engage in a theatrical production.
- A U.S. Federal Student Aid-eligible version of this program is offered, meeting all U.S. regulations for eligible programs.
Admission Criteria
- Minimum Cut-off Averages and Course Requirements:
- Quebec CEGEP: DEC
- High School: C+
- International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma: 26
- International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (CP): 4.3/7
- Baccalauréat français: 11
- British system of education (GCE): At least two A-level exams
- Additional Requirements for Admission:
- Letter of Intent
- Portfolio
- Interview via videoconference for short-listed applicants

- FALL ENTRY (September): Deadline is March 1. U.S. and international applicants must apply no later than February 1.
- WINTER ENTRY (January): Admission to this program is available for the Fall Term only.
