Chartered Professional Accountancy (CPA) Graduate Diploma Program
The Chartered Professional Accountancy (CPA) Graduate Diploma program at Concordia University is designed to meet the needs of the next generation of accounting professionals. Taught by dedicated instructors with years of audit, consulting, and accounting experience, this program has a long and proud tradition of excellence in graduate accounting education.
Program Overview
The program is built on a tradition of excellence and designed to meet the needs of the next generation of accounting professionals. Students can complete the program part-time in the evening over a period of up to two years, or fast-track by studying full-time with the Accelerated Pathway, where one can complete the program in as quickly as 16 months (including a one-term leave of absence).
Program Structure
The program requires the completion of a minimum of 30 credits. The degree requirements include:
- Core I Module: 8 credits
- ACCO 650 Financial Reporting in Practice (4.00)
- ACCO 651 Financial Reporting: Comprehensive Applications (4.00)
- Core II Module: 8 credits
- ACCO 652 Business Advisory Services (4.00)
- ACCO 653 Information Systems and Internal Control (4.00)
- Capstone I Module: 2 credits
- ACCO 658 Capstone I Seminar (2.00)
- Capstone II Module: 4 credits
- ACCO 659 Capstone II Examination Preparation (4.00)
- Elective Courses: 8 credits, chosen from two of the following four courses, depending on students' interests and career aspirations:
- ACCO 654 Assurance and Professional Practice (4.00)
- ACCO 655 Taxation and Decision Making (4.00)
- ACCO 656 Performance Management (4.00)
- ACCO 657 Financial Strategies and Decisions (4.00) Note: Students who plan to practice public accounting must take ACCO 654 and ACCO 655.
Admission Requirements
- Bachelor's degree. Students holding an undergraduate degree with a major in Accountancy, with high academic standing (minimum GPA of 3.00 on a scale of 4.30, or the equivalent, and demonstrated overall proficiency in specific courses) will normally have satisfied the prerequisite requirements.
- Proficiency in English. Applicants whose primary language is not English must demonstrate that their knowledge of English is sufficient to pursue graduate studies in their chosen field.
Application Process

- Summer: February 1 Priority will be given to complete applications submitted by the deadline. In some cases, programs may continue to accept applications as long as there is space available.

Funding packages are generally available for students in thesis-based programs. Course-based students may be eligible for a number of donor awards and may consult with their department for program-specific opportunities.
