Program Overview
Actuarial Mathematics/Finance (BA, BSc)
The Actuarial Mathematics/Finance program is a combined degree that offers students a direct path to an actuarial career with a financial sector specialization. This program is provisionally accredited by the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA), and graduates gain exemptions to four of the preliminary professional exams of the Society of Actuaries and the Casualty Actuarial Society.
Program Overview
The program allows students to model the future, solve problems involving risk, and make financial decisions that will affect the futures of corporations, communities, and investors. Students will study statistics, probability, and mathematical models to solve problems involving uncertainty, as well as accounting, economics, and finance courses at the John Molson School of Business.
Program Structure
A Bachelor of Arts or Science degree takes a minimum of three or four years (90 120 credits) of full-time study, depending on the student's academic background. The program includes a specialization in Actuarial Mathematics/Finance (90 credits).

Co-op Program
The Actuarial Mathematics Co-op program gives students the chance to do paid work terms for insurance companies or consulting firms as actuarial assistants or actuarial analysts. Co-op program students will learn computer programs used by actuaries to analyze data, make defined benefit plan calculations, and produce pension statements.

- Quebec CEGEP: 29 overall, 32 math and science
- High School: A overall, A math and science
- International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma: 35 overall, 5 HL or 6 SL math, 6 science
- International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (CP): 5.8/7 overall, 5 HL or 6 SL math, 6 science
- Baccalauréat français: 16 overall, 16 math and science
- British system of education (GCE): At least two A-level exams AA, A in math, A in science
- University Transfers (internal/external): A- overall, A- math and science
