Electrical Engineering Bachelor's Degree (BS)

The Electrical Engineering Bachelor's Degree (BS) at UT San Antonio is an accredited program that develops a strong foundation in the engineering sciences. Students acquire the analysis, design, and synthesis tools needed to work effectively with many traditional and emerging technologies.

The program offers concentrations like Communications, Computer Engineering, Digital Signal Processing (DSP), Electronic Materials and Devices, Systems and Control, and Electric Power Engineering. Admission Requirements

To major in Electrical Engineering, students must meet the following admission requirements:


  • Freshman and transfer students who do not meet these requirements but meet UT San Antonio's general admission requirements will be admitted into Engineering, Math, and Sciences Studies.
  • Freshmen and freshmen transfers with SAT scores below 1200 or ACT scores below 25 may undergo admission by committee review.

Admission Criteria

The admission criteria for the Electrical Engineering program are as follows:


  • FRESHMAN | Admission | High School Class Rank | Minimum Test Scores
    • Direct Admission | Top 10% | No minimum and Calculus I Ready
    • Direct Admission | Below Top 10% | 1200 SAT or 25 ACT and Calculus I Ready
  • TRANSFER | Admission | Transferable Credits | Minimum GPA (4.0 Scale) & Coursework
    • Direct Admission | Meet UT San Antonio's general admission requirements. Have 3.0 GPA or higher and completed the following courses with a C- or better: MAT 1214 or MAT 1213 (TCCN MATH 2413 or MATH 2313), WRC 1013 (TCCN ENG 1301)
    • College Review | Meet UT San Antonio's general admission requirements. Have below 3.0 GPA and completed the following courses with a C- or better: MAT 1214 or MAT 1213 (TCCN MATH 2413 or MATH 2313), WRC 1013 (TCCN ENG 1301)
