Admission Requirements
To major in biomedical engineering, students must meet the following admission requirements. Freshman and transfer students who do not meet these requirements but meet the university's general admission requirements will be admitted into Engineering, Math, and Sciences Studies, where students will be able to work towards meeting the prerequisites needed to declare Biomedical Engineering as their major.
- Freshmen and freshmen transfers with SAT scores below 1200 or ACT scores below 25 may undergo admission by committee review.
- The admission requirements are as follows:
- FRESHMAN
- Direct Admission: Top 10% with no minimum test scores and Calculus I Ready
- Direct Admission: Below Top 10% with 1200 SAT or 25 ACT and Calculus I Ready
- TRANSFER
- Direct Admission: Meet the university's general admission requirements, have a 3.0 GPA or higher, and completed the following courses with a C- or better:
- MAT 1214 or MAT 1213 (TCCN MATH 2413 or MATH 2313)
- WRC 1013 (TCCN ENG 1301)
- College Review: Meet the university's general admission requirements, have below 3.0 GPA, and completed the following courses with a C- or better:
- MAT 1214 or MAT 1213 (TCCN MATH 2413 or MATH 2313)
- WRC 1013 (TCCN ENG 1301)
- Direct Admission: Meet the university's general admission requirements, have a 3.0 GPA or higher, and completed the following courses with a C- or better:
