Program Description

This program is ideal for students who wish to start their career with a year's work experience in hand. It combines the studies of the BSc (Hons) in Mathematics with Finance with a year-long work placement in level 4, leading to the award of a Diploma in Industrial Training. The work placement provides students with 12 months of experience working in an organization in the financial sector, helping them develop specific work-related skills, apply theoretical knowledge in real-world settings, and enhance their interpersonal skills through teamwork and communication.

Course Content

• Year 1: Introduction to university mathematics, calculus, algebra, statistics, and finance.
• Year 2: Continuation of calculus and algebra, introduction to financial mathematics and numerical analysis.
• Year 3: Study of abstract algebra, ordinary differential equations, complex analysis, and financial derivatives, along with a project preparation module.
• Year 4: 12-month industrial training placement.
• Year 5: Study of securities and derivatives, along with a wide choice of courses in pure and applied mathematics, and a mathematics project dissertation.

Entry Requirements
