German Law for International Law Graduates (Postgraduate studies) (LL.M.)

Study Content

This postgraduate programme offers foreign graduates the opportunity to obtain the academic degree of Magister Legum (LL.M.) and pursues three goals:

• Students learn the basic principles of German law
• Students work in depth on selected areas of German, European, or international law
• Students deal with the academic discussion of a legal problem in the written Master's thesis The students can set individual focal points. During their studies in Augsburg, they take part in the regular study programme for German students. In addition, students who have graduated abroad have the opportunity to prepare for the aptitude test for European lawyers while still studying for their Master's degree.

Career Prospects

• Depends on the home country of the applicant
• Option to take the qualification test to become a European lawyer - in order to be admitted to the bar in Germany
