The University of Oregon School of Law offers a variety of programs for students to pursue their interests in law.

Degree Programs

• JD Program: The Juris Doctor (JD) program is a three-year course of study that leads to a doctoral degree in law.

Oregon Summer Sports Law Institute

The Oregon Summer Sports Law Institute is a comprehensive program that offers students the opportunity to study sports law in a immersive and interactive environment. The program includes courses in professional sports law, pathway to practice, and careers in sports law.

Courses

• Professional Sports Law: This course provides students with a comprehensive education in professional sports law, including topics such as antitrust, labor relations, and intellectual property.
• Pathway to Practice: This course provides students with hands-on training in negotiation, contract drafting, and advocacy, as well as the opportunity to develop their professional identity and network.
• Careers in Sports Law: This course provides students with an overview of the many career paths available in sports law, as well as the opportunity to make vital connections with leaders and experts in the field.

Faculty

The Oregon Summer Sports Law Institute features a faculty of experienced and renowned experts in sports law, including Professor David Weber, who specializes in sports law with an emphasis on name, image, and likeness (NIL) and legal issues facing international athletes.

Cedric Halloran Award

The Cedric Halloran Award is given annually to one or two students who demonstrate enthusiasm, energy, and a beautiful spirit, as well as a passion for sports and a genuine investment in the success and happiness of others. The award includes a monetary prize supported by the Halloran family.
