Program Overview
Dual Enrollment Program
The Dual Enrollment Program allows students to take courses at the University of Oregon (UO) and Lane Community College (LCC).
Requirements
- Students must be accepted to both UO and LCC.
- Students must approve their records to be shared between the UO and LCC.
- The following students are not eligible for the Dual Enrollment Program:
- Nursing majors at Lane Community College
- Pathway Oregon students
- Post-baccalaureate students
- Students that have been disqualified
Financial Matters
Financial aid will be evaluated and awarded based on the number of earned credits.
- If a student has 0 to 89 earned credits, their community college will be responsible for their financial aid package.
- If a student has 90 or more earned credits, the UO will be responsible for their financial aid package.
- Students will pay the tuition and fees at the UO or their community college based on where they registered.
- Students with UO scholarships that require full-time enrollment are encouraged to lock in their scholarship(s) by attending their first term at the University of Oregon.
Benefits
- Students can live in UO University Housing (full-time enrollment is required).
- Students may save money by taking courses at the community college and at the UO.
Program Cancellation
- The deadline for cancellation is the Friday of the first week of classes.
- Late requests will not be accepted for financial aid recipients.
- Students that have not taken any credit at the University of Oregon or Lane Community College for one year will be cancelled from the program.
Student Record Release
As a condition of admission to the Dual Enrollment Program, students must approve the release of student record information to each institution. This allows their community college and the UO to share their student record information so that they can easily move back and forth between the two institutions.
Tuition and Fees
Assessment of tuition and fees is based on the courses for which students register.
- LCC tuition and fees are assessed for courses taken at LCC.
- UO tuition and fees are assessed for UO courses.
- The institution that received the tuition and fees handles withdrawals and refunds in accordance with its rules and policies.
- Tuition is assessed at resident or nonresident rates as with all other students.
- LCC establishes residency criteria for its courses.
- Residency classification at the University of Oregon is determined by rules set forth in the Interinstitutional Residency Compact and is followed by all Oregon public universities.
- Students admitted in the Dual Enrollment Program and taking classes at both schools pay fees for each institution according to its standard fee structure.
- If a student is enrolled in the Dual Enrollment Program but taking classes at only one institution, they pay fees based on that institution's standard fee structure.
- Dual Enrollment Program students have access to student services at both campuses.
- Students at one institution who want access to fee-based student services at the other institution may do so by paying the mandatory fees at both institutions.
Application Process
Students must already be accepted to both the UO and LCC. Students should complete the dual enrollment application for the UO/LCC program by the deadline, which differs based on term:
- Fall term: deadline is the Friday, four weeks prior to Fall term
- Winter, Spring, Summer terms: deadline is Friday, three weeks prior to the term
- Late requests to add or be dropped from the program will not be approved for financial aid recipients.
