Program Overview
The Ashoka University in India program offers a unique learning experience in a global classroom with Ashoka students. For six weeks, students will attend classes at Ashoka University, a prestigious liberal arts university located near New Delhi. The program provides an opportunity to learn about India, gain a global perspective, and explore New Delhi and other cities.

The program has a rolling admission application process, where GEO staff review complete applications in the order they are submitted.
Application Process
Applying for this program involves two steps. If a student receives a nomination from GEO, they will also need to complete the host university's application, which is administered and reviewed by the host university directly.
Discount for Pell Recipients
To expand access to study abroad, GEO is offering a $500 discount for this program to UO students who currently have the Pell Grant as part of their federal financial aid (FAFSA).
Academic Details
During the six-week program, students will take two courses from the following disciplines:
- English/Creative Writing
- Economics
- Environmental Studies
- Indian Politics
- Indian Civilization
- Media Studies
- International Relations
- Psychology and Behavioral Sciences
- Sociology and Anthropology
Each course will count as 5 UO credits, and students will earn a total of 10 credits during the summer.
Course Equivalencies
- UO students: Please refer to the UO Course Equivalency Process and the UO Office of the Registrar Course Equivalency Database.
- Non-UO students: Actual credit awarded is determined by the relevant department at the student's university in consultation with the study abroad office.
Housing Description
Students are guaranteed campus accommodation in fully-furnished residence halls with laundry service. Rooms are on a double-occupancy basis, and single rooms are not available. Students will be housed with Ashoka students to encourage intercultural exchange.

Cancellation Policy
- Cancellation Date: Upon acceptance to the program, the student agrees to a $500 non-refundable program deposit.
- Cancellation Penalty:
- 8 weeks before the program start date: Student is responsible for 50% of total GEO fees.
- Program start date or after the program begins: Student is responsible for 100% of total GEO fees.
